Updated Management Permissions for Shipments
To improve shipment management in Cargoo, we updated user permissions to edit and book shipments based on user company roles as well as the settings related to shipment party and reference permission management. This enhancement, applicable for shipments in Draft and Delegated statuses, provides greater flexibility and control during shipment planning.
Users can now edit shipment parties and references based on their role and company-level permissions.
Shipments can be edited or booked according to the rules described in the table below:
Action | User or Role | |||||
Creator of Shipment | Booking Agent | Origin Handling Agent | Shipment Owner | The Last Delegated To-Company | Any Delegated To- Company | |
Editing shipments | √ | √ | √ | √ | √ | √ |
Booking shipments | √ | √ | √ | − | √ | − |
Depending on how a party is added to the shipment, the following party types are available:
- Restricted Parties (
) – System-defined (e.g., Creator, Booked by Party), based on global Cargoo rules.
- Parties Added by Automation – Added automatically through GSI or Workflow Automation, based on custom rules.
- User-Added Parties – Added manually by users in individual shipments.
To modify parties, a user must have edit rights for the shipment as described in the table above. Additional rules apply depending on the party type:
Party Type | Who can modify parties | Who can modify party references |
Restricted Parties | No one – editing is not allowed | Company mentioned in the party |
Parties added by automation | Shipment Owner | Company mentioned in the party |
User-Added Parties |
