We have improved the display of fields on the charges section of the Shipment form to suit better the Elsewhere Payment currently available for ocean carriers for the Booking request and CBLI.



Key Updates

Elsewhere Option Availability

  • Only carriers that allow payments in locations other than the origin/destination countries of the shipment, will see the Elsewhere option in the payment method field.


Historically, depending on the carrier contract arrangements and/or credit terms, some carriers are provided with the Elsewhere option as a payment method as opposed to the origin or destination country of shipment.



When selecting the freight payment term, Cargoo will guide you by displaying if the selected carrier accepts the Elsewhere payment method or not.



If a carrier does not accept Elsewhere payment, you can still send a combination of Payment Party, Payment Term, and Place of Payment that is not the shipper/consignee, but a party that might be the holder of the contract.



Location Field Visibility

  • The location field will now always be available. 

  • The location field will now be mandatory only if you choose the Elsewhere option as the payment method.
